Our journey began in 2007 in Charlotte, NC, with the founding of a pine straw mulch business, a product renowned for a premium, eco-friendly alternative to traditional hardwood mulch. During Pine Straw Mulch deliveries, we soon discovered a lot of our customers in Charlotte, NC had outdoor kitchens and fireplaces in their backyard, so in 2009 we began to offer our customers firewood.

Firewood Mercantile was born from a natural extension of our commitment to quality and sustainability. While working closely with our Mid-Atlantic Pine Straw Mulch customers and through our own experiences, we noticed that the quality of firewood and ease of attaining it left much to be desired. Recognizing the opportunity to offer another product that aligns with our core values, we decided to create Firewood Mercantile.
